Georgia Power Changes Vogtle Fee Structure, Bills Will Rise Sooner Than Expected

Georgia Power will pack on a higher rate increase than originally expected for the nuclear expansion at Plant Vogtle. For more than a year, Georgia Power officials had said the construction fee for the two new reactors would be $1.30 in 2011. Instead, starting in January, customers will see a rate hike nearly three times that amount.
